(7:31amCT - Mon 7 Nov 2016) - A crash on Interstate 65 near mile marker 31 in Warren County is blocked due to a major crash. One lane is open, but traffic is moving extremely slow as cleanup continues. Motorists are advised to use the signed detour setup at exit 28. Motorists will get off at exit 28 onto KY 446, then proceed right onto U.S. 31-W, then take a right on U.S. 68 near Warren East High School. Motorists will stay on U.S. 68 for about 7 miles to KY 101, then take a right onto KY 101 to get back on I-65 at Smiths Grove. Gloria Layne Popplewell, 75, Russell Co., KY (1941-2016) She was a member of and matriarch of a distinguished Russell County, KY family. She was born in Jamestown, KY, and was a resident of the city at the time of her death in Jamestown, KY. She was the daughter of the late Della Rae (Bernard) and William Arvester Dabney, and the wife of Dr. H.K. Popplewell, DMD. She leaves 12 direct living descendants. She was a retired after 40 years as Dental Office Manager. She was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church. She was dedicated to her family, believed in education, and remained an avid learner throughout her life. She loved Duplicate Bridge and taught many others to participate in the game. She supported the library and was an avid reader. She earned a Presidential Medal for living with Type I diabetes for over 50 years.
