Mr. George Frank Hagan, Taylor Co. KY/Monroe Co, KY native (1927-2016)

Mr. Hagan professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was the owner and operator of Hagan's Auto Sales, the oldest used car dealership in Taylor County. Mr. Hagan also kept busy by hauling milk for Chapel's Dairy, and as a young man, he had worked in the funeral business. He answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a native of Monroe County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Bascal and Effie (Carlock) Hagan. His wife of 62 years Martha Elise Nevins Hagan, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Josh Wilson will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY 40033, with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

Mr. Cecil Clay Stubbs, Taylor Co./Adair Co., KY native (1941-2016)

Mr. Stubbs was a sawmill worker, a former employee of the Fruit of the Loom factory, and drove a cab. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late Alvin Kenneth and Lizzie May (Kearney) Stubbs. He leaves 12 direct living descendants. His companion of of over 30 years, Joyce Tucker, survives.

Christina Johnson, 88, Russell Co., KY (1928-2016)

She was a retired librarian at Russell County Library. She was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Abner Perkins & Lorene Hale Fox and the widow of Jessie W. Johnson. She leaves five direct living descendants.

FRANKFORT, KY (Nov. 5, 2016) - Thousands of hunters are expected to be in the woods this weekend hunting small game, including rabbit, quail and grouse. And with modern rifle season opening next weekend, the Division of Forestry is hoping all hunters will be particularly careful to protect the Commonwealth's forests as the state battles wildfire fires.

Dimple Stalcup Sharp, 89, Cumberland Co., KY (1927-2016)

Born on the 4th of July, 1927, she was a member of Hickory Grove Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was a member of a respected family, the daughter of the late William Carvin Stalcup and Dora Ethel Anderson Stalcup, and the widow of Malcolm Sharp. Her final resting place will be in her native Cumberland County.

Campbellsville Independent Schools' Family Resource and Youth Services Center will host volunteer training at 12:30pmCT/1:30pmET, Wednesday, November 9 at the FRYSC Center, which is located at Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main Street (campus), Campbellsville, KY

To become a volunteer in the Campbellsville Independent Schools District, parents and caregivers must submit paperwork and attend a training session. After a background check is completed, parents can become eligible to volunteer during various school activities, field trips and classroom events.   • Social security card
  • Any identification card with picture and signature
  • Any US government-issued identification card
  • Any Kentucky state government identification card with picture

WILLIAMSBURG, KY - (5 Nov 2016) The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team sent two wrestlers to the championship bouts of their weight class at the Patriot Open on Saturday. Matt Walker (ranked No. 2 at 174 pounds) took the championship at 184-pound weight class and Daniel Leonard (No. 6 at 141) claimed second place in the 149-pound bracket.

Russell County, KY, man charged with Wanton Endangerment

Charge alleges man fired rifle into area where juveniles were riding bicycles.

RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY (SAT 5 Nov 2016) - 53-year-old Lonnie Burdine, of Russell Springs, was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 3:51amCT on Lynch Lane in Eli.

Burdine was charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree after an investigation into Burdine firing a rifle into the area where juveniles were riding bicycles. Burdine was lodged into in the Russell County Jail. Tpr. Nick Hale is investigating.

2014 GMC Acadia left roadway, struck embankment, and became airborne before striking a utility pole. 65 year old driver taken to hospital in Albany, KY, where she was pronounced dead.

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY ALBANY, KY, (Sat 5 Nov 2016) - Tpr. David Long is investigating a collision that occurred today at approximately 10:10amCT 7 miles north of Albany on US 127.

65-year-old Wilma T. Melton was operating a northbound 2014 GMC Acadia when it left the shoulder of the roadway, struck an embankment, and became airborne before striking a utility pole.
