Owens, chair of Campbellsville University's Board of Trustees, and pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, said at Campbellsville University's 37th annual President's Club dinner. Ms. Jean Gibson Irby, 68, Burkesville, KY (1948-2016) Jean was a talented entertainer. She started singing as a child and was a regular performer at Renfro Valley. The only thing that outshined her musical talent was her ability as a cook. She was a member of Burkesville First United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Campbellsville College and her Master’s Degree and Rank I at Western Kentucky University. She was a school teacher for the Adair County Board of Education and the Cumberland County Board of Education, beginning her teaching career in 1970 and retiring in 2001. She was a member of a highly regarded Breeding, KY, area family, and a resident of Burkesville, KY, at the time of her death.
