Mrs. Delcie E. Wright Capps, Cumberland Co., KY (1929-2016)

She was a member of Burkesville Church of Christ, a seamstress for Kentucky Pants Factory and Bob Evans Manufacturing, and a homemaker. She was the matriarch of a distinguished Cumberland County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora (Groce) Wright, and the widow of Roy F. Capps, Sr. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Jeffery Vibbert officiating. Burial will be in The Burkesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 until the funeral hour on Wednesday.

Maylee Gabrielle Rickard turned 8 years old on October 2, 2016. She celebrated her birthday at Catherine Nenney Baptist Church with her friends and family!

She is the daughter of Jason & Nicole (Taylor) Rickard of Russellville, TN the granddaughter of Billy & Terri Rickard of Morristown, TN and the big sister to Mya Grace Rickard.

She is also the great granddaughter to the late Mary Lee Taylor of Columbia, KY.

Washington County fatal collision occurs Sun at Willisburg, KY

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

WILLISBURG, KY (10 Oct 2016) - Tpr. Logan Smith is investigating a collision that occurred on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at approximately 11pmET, 1 mile north of Willisburg on KY 53. A 2005 KIA, operated by an unidentified person, was traveling north on KY 53 when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, struck a tree and caught fire.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene but due to the extensive damage from the fire, no identification has been made. An autopsy will be performed today at the state medical examiner's office in Louisville and a positive identification is expected.

Casey County injury collision occurs on KY 910

LIBERTY, KY (10 Oct 2016) - Tpr. Charles Hedgespeth is investigating a collision that occurred Sunday, October 9, 2016 at approximately 1:15pmET, 8 miles south of Liberty on KY 910. 26-year-old Lauren Thomas, of Liberty, was operating a westbound 2000 Chevy when the vehicle left the roadway, went airborne and landed on it's side. Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt and was flown to the University of Kentucky hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Campbellsville Tiger Men's Basketball hosts Central Pennsylvania College in their season opener at 6pmCT/7pmET, Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in the Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY.

The Campbellsville University men's basketball team will start the season ranked No. 4 in the Sporting News NAIA Preseason Top 10, the publication released this week.

After the Tigers at No. 4, two other Mid-South Conference teams were mentioned. Lindsey Wilson College ranks No. 5 in the poll, while Georgetown College rounds out the Top 10.

Vick Wells Rogers, Russell Co., KY (1954-2016)

He was past President of Russell County Camp of Gideons International. He was a farmer and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Noel Harlan & Alice Warriner Rogers. His wife, Cathie Rogers, survives.
