Hall leads LWC Cycling at Union College Mountain Bike Race By Charles Balcom BARBOURVILLE, Ky - Kenny Hall recorded a pair of runner-up finishes for the Lindsey Wilson cycling team over the weekend at the Union College Mad Dog Mountain Bike Race. The junior placed second in the men's "A" cross country race, and followed with another runner-up finish in the men's "A" short track cross country race in the field of 24. Adrian Sanders added another Blue Raider runner-up finish after taking second in the women's "A" dual slalom event. Letter: Reader warns pet owners of possible threat Sandra Coomer writes: Yesterday afternoon our dogs were outside in the driveway on Milltown Church Road. A (truck) stopped in the road and started to try to coax the dogs to them. They didn't see Johnny Morgan in the yard. He heard them and yelled out at them and they got in the truck and ran off. They turned around somewhere up the road and came back through about five minutes later. Just wanted to warn people to keep and eye out for their pets. There is someone out there trying to steal them. I just wish they would have gotten hold of a certain one of mine because you can only pick it up a certain way or you will get teeth marks with blood. It's not dangerous just fragile. Just keep eye out and keep your pets safe. Homeplace Festival wrapup - 2016 was a year of records The 2016 Ninth Year for the Homeplace Festival broke attendance record. The Hay Maze so successful board is considering leaving it up and available at specific times through Halloween. New stars developed at the show: Stripes the gentle zebra at the petting zoo. And Allegiant the Eagle & Friends for others.
