Dr. Phil Aaron made Organ Donor Program priority for last years ![]() Adair County is mourning the loss of a man whose life made such a huge difference in how medical care is provided. One of his major contributions, also, was to change a then dismal organ donor acceptance in the county. Phillip Reeves (Phil) Aaron, M.D. 70, Adair Co., KY (1945-2016) A memorial service for Dr. Aaron will be at 11amCT, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. The gift of a kidney from a Chinese immigrant construction worker in New York, changed his life. Dr. Aaron said, at the first of 2011, that he'd be making increasing the level of participation in the Trust for Life organ donor program the number one priority in the remaining time he had to practice. He wrote in a moving, very personal story Dr. Phil R. Aaron: A Gift for the New Year 'It has been of great concern to me that although we Adair Countians are certainly the most giving, the most caring group of individuals statewide - we lag behind when it comes to organ donation.' 2016-08-11 07:43:49 | Comments | Printable version
