Farm Bureau sponsors 3rd graders Homeplace experience

By Billy Joe Fudge
Vice-President, Homeplace on Green River

Adair County Farm Bureau during their July meeting stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for Adair County's 230 Third Grade Students. They agreed to pay $5.00 for each student to have an outdoor educational experience at Kentucky's Outdoor Classroom.

Kentucky's Outdoor Classroom at Homeplace on Green River is quickly becoming a destination for our area's teachers who want to provide a real world, hands on, outdoor, educational experience for their students.

Most parents, teachers and administrators recognize that our electronic, urbanized culture no longer provides the experiences necessary for our children to develop a healthy appreciation for their place and role in the natural world. They also know that our children need to develop at least a basic understanding of the agricultural industry which provides the food and fiber that sustains them.
