Kentucky State Police Post 15 Columbia, KY

COLUMBIA, KY – The Kentucky State Police are asking for public assistance in attempting to locate 52-year-old Wendy L. Augustine, of West Chester, Ohio. Augustine was last seen on a houseboat at the Lake Cumberland State Dock today at approximately 12:40amCT.

She was last seen wearing a black skirt, white tank top, gold chain with cross necklace and rings on each hand. Augustine is a 5'5", 140 pound, white female with blonde hair and blue eyes. If anyone has any information, please contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555. - Tpr. Nick Hale is investigating.

Rider taken to hospital after US 127 sedan/Yamaha collision

Motorcyclist thrown from Yamaha after sedan exiting Bread of Life Cafe' parking lot pulls into path. Cycle travels several yards on its on, crossing Southbound US 127 without incident, coming to rest on grassy embankment above Morgan Farms. Rider transported to Ephraim McDowell for treatment of possible injuries. Occupants of car uninjured. Motorcycle, still running when removed from grassy shouler, apparently has only cosmetic damage.

Juanita Hulett Collette, Taylor Co., KY (1919-2016)

She was a retired secretary for Coppock's Feed. She professed faith in Christ and attended Southside Christian Church and Campbellsville Christian Church. She was a native of Garrard County, KY and the widow of Ewell H. Collette, her husband of over 44 years. Her final resting place will be in Garrard County, KY.

The Whitehurst Diaries: The Night Side of the Moon

It was an important time for planting potatoes this week, during the 'dark of the moon.' Sharon and Jim found agreement with their Amish neighbors in the Pellyton Community with reliance on time honored traditions of the Amish, of the Whitehursts' own family's adherence to advice in the Old Family Almanac and modern day use of Moongiant.com which provides a moon calendar and a place to learn more about the phases of the moon.

The 'moon' has figured in several conversations lately. When two young Amish women from a neighboring farm stopped by one evening our talk touched on gardening. While we lamented the stoniness of our current garden spot, the girls mentioned that in spite of the prevailing rocky soil their family manages a good garden, including a healthy crop of potatoes.

CHS show choir to present spring concert Sun 15 May 2016

Campbellsville High School show choir will present its spring concert on Sunday, May 15, 2016.The concert will begin at 2:30pmCT/3:30pmET in Hamilton Auditorium at Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, following the annual baccalaureate service for CHS seniors, which will begin at 1pmCT/2pmET.

This year's concert, to which admission is free, is being choreographed entirely by students. Students have spent the past several weeks preparing for the performance. Traffic Advisory: KY 55 – Springfield/Washington County

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 4, Elizabethtown, KY

Work to repair the bridge over Road Run Creek along KY 55 between US 150 and the US 150 Bypass will require closure of the road beginning Monday, May 9, 2016. Guardrail and concrete issues will be addressed with this project which is expected to take 1-2 weeks for completion. Weather will be a factor in determining the completion date. Closure will be located at each bridge approach. Access will be maintained to KY 55 from US 150 and the US 150 Bypass.
