Lana Glasgow and Luci Irvin win teacher appreciation prizes By Shamarie Claiborne Media Promotions Coordinator, Adair County School District To cap off Teacher Appreciation Week, drawings were held at each school for with those names going into a box, from which Superintendent Alan W. Reed had Morgan Harvey, a student at Adair County Middle School, drew the winners from the finalists. Morgan drew Lana Glasgow from Adair County Elementary School for the grand Prize and Luci Irvin from Adair County Primary Center won the $100 dollars. Congratulations to both these great teachers! Two local business donated items to being given to teachers in recognition of their hard work. Holmes Bend Boat Dock and Marina donated the grand prize, a $350 value which consisted of a night's stay in one of their cabins and a day rental of a pontoon. There will be a senior walk at 6:30 p.m. for the graduate ceremony May 8 beginning in the Davenport Student Commons and moving to Ransdell Chapel. On Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m., there will be the senior walk for the 9 a.m. ceremony and at 11:30 a.m. for the noon ceremony, both in front of Montgomery Library, and moving to Powell Athletic Center. The board accepted 10 case withdrawals giving complainants the right to file private suits and ruled to dismiss 16 complaints with findings of no probable cause to evidence discrimination may have occurred. Conciliation agreements are similar to settlements and are negotiated by commission officials.
