MIKE WATSON: Flooding unforgiving threat Click on headline for complete article with photo(s) By Mike Watson (1:21pmCT, 14 Apr 2017) -Looking at the high-water photographs on CM today proves that flooding is a real and unforgiving threat to humans, animals and property. Just this past Saturday Mrs. Watson and I were very near this now flooded spot. We were on a mission to take photographs for a project. As we drove along, through Gradyville and environs, I recounted the history of the Gradyville Flood, noting the "trickle" that is Big Creek. June 7, 2015 will mark the 108th anniversary of the tragic event that claimed so many lives. The accompanying photo is just one of the markers for flood victims of that night. Trash in creek, timber debris, biggest problem on 14 Apr 2015 GADBERRY, KY (3:41pmCT, 14 Apr 2015) - I believe our greatest problem with the flooding this morning was caused by the trees and other trash keeping the water from going under our bridge. The creek coming out of the back of our farm is back within its banks. Pettit Fork Creek is pretty much back within its banks now. - CHARLES MARSHBURN 2015-04-15 05:09:14 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback
