Mr. Moss Marcum, Adair County, KY, Green County , KY native (1916-2014) He was a highly valued citizen of with vast treasure of friendships built over almost a century of time. He was a native of Green County and a resident of Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Claud Marcum and Alice Vaughn Marcum. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Beatrice Caven Marcum of Columbia, KY. He leaves six direct living descendants, spanning three generations, including many in Adair and Metcalfe Counties of South Central KY. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Church of the Nazarene. He was a life-long farmer. Japanese Hornet sting can be painful, itchy Writer well remembers 2013 experience. Says accidental pinch triggered sting; but notes that the Hornet was after other bugs in barn, not him Brad Byington writes: Those hornets are not normally agressive to humans. But as someone who has been stung by one, it was bad. Summer of 2013, in the evening, we had the milk parlor lights on and bugs where being drawn in by the light, including the hornets, but they were after other bugs. One flew from the light, landed on my shirt at the waist, without me knowing it. I bent over to pick up towels to wipe cows and it pinched the hornet. It STUNG!!!! Good speakers were promised, and the News gently admonished, "everyone who is interested in farming should attend." In the more immediate future, Judge Rollin Hurt and Attorney General James Garmett would be speaking at the courthouse in the interest of the Democratic party on Monday, November first, election day eve. So, please, please, do not tell if you saw Miss Victoria, in her hot pink Fred Flintstone era house shoes and pink housecoat walking the streets of Columbia. It was in the course of being a good Samaritan, helping fellow Democrat Pat search for a lost cellphone misplaced in the course of serving Democracy at the Adair Annex. In the urgency of the search, she wore that outfit, more outlandish than any she had ever worn on Halloween. And the phone still lost. Please don't breathe a word about the outfit.
