Donnie Coffey: Take a harder look at situation with roads safety

Comments re photo 57090 Granddad Polston Advocating for SAFE Adair County Roads

Donnie Coffey writes:
I believe the county road department needs to look harder at this situation and other requests the people bring before the court and take their snickers and nasty remarks somewhere else outside of a official meeting. Where did all the funds for county roads go? I haven't seen much work at all this year anywhere! - Donnie Coffey
Thanks. First, totally disagree with you on the road money. We've never, ever gotten so much benefit for county road dollars. But, Mr. Coffey, I totally agree with you on taking the concerns Mr. Polston and his daughter present to heart, which the court appears to be doing.

Football: Indians go down fighting to South Warren

Next: Adair County Indians Football hosts Muhlenberg County at 7pmCT, Friday, 17 Oct 2014 at Adair County Football Stadium, 623 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY

By Cathy Luttrell

Last Friday night, the Adair Co. Indians football suffered their first loss of the season to the South Warren Spartans with a final score of 42-12.

With a 6-1 record so far for the season, the team can still hold their heads high. They are one of only three teams that have scored against South Warren this year. The Indians are the only team to score two touchdowns against South Warren this year.

The mother of the Spartans team captain made the following comment and I wanted to share it with everyone:
"The Spartans are an old well-oiled team. This team of Indians is young, so the fact that they played as well as they did tonight says MULTITUDES about their future! Keep that fighting spirit boys, you played a great game tonight, there's no shame in losing to this team. You should be proud. GO INDIANS. Great game boys!!"

The TRAIL so far and the games ahead:

AC Jailer Rick Wilson: Improvements for 3rd Quarter 2014

at Adair County Fiscal Court meeting 14 Oct 2014
Click on headline for complete story with photo(s)

Adair County Jailer Rick Wilson read the following Quarterly Report to Adair Fiscal Court, Tuesday, 14 Oct 2014: We have a total of 36 staff members as of 9/30/14. Garden more successful than past years

This year our garden was more successful than past years. We enjoyed great cooperative work from staff and inmates. Chief Cook, Judy Derman estimated we have saved approximately $5,476. In 2013 we saved $5,014.39. Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) full implemented at Adair County Regional Jail

PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) is fully implemented. I know some large jails have implemented it but I know of no other small jails that have fully functional PREA programs. Largest refund from medical company ever received

I am extremely pleased to announce that we received a refund from our medical company cost pool on 9/23/14 in the amount of $12,990.11. This is the most we have ever received. Last year we received $5,417.03.

This was possible due to our nurse with Southern Health Partners being able to take care of medical needs without sending inmates to outside providers. We are provided $25,000 of cost pool per year and at the end of the year we are refunded 80% of what is left. - RICK WILSON, Adair County Regional Jailer
