Mrs. Davenport is doing a great job so far with tons of contributions to the school and her students. She recently attended the Kentucky Art Educators fall conference and after evaluating her students work created under the tutelage of her predecessor Mrs. Wimmer, Mrs. Davenport found two exceptional pieces and with the students permission, entered them into the state wide competition held during the conference. Both young ladies far exceeded all expectations. Anna Parson's received Second Place and Best Overall in the Sculpture Category while Beka Janes received First Place in the Sculpture Category. 800-Acre Public Hunting area opens in Pulaski Co., KY New area is east of Somerset, KY. Once at the site, travel through the area is by walking only. ATVs and horseback riding are not allowed. The area is not open for camping. By Dave Baker FRANKFORT, KY - More than 800 acres in eastern Pulaski County is now open for public hunting. The Ping-Sinking Valley Wildlife Management Area (WMA) features a unique network of underground streams within the Buck Creek watershed. The WMA includes forested ridges and valleys. Approximately 54 acres of the property consists of openings scattered throughout the tract. The terrain is steep, with a 400-foot elevation gain between the valleys and ridges. Ping-Sinking Valley WMA has moderate to good populations of deer, turkey, squirrels, furbearers and songbirds. The area is open for archery, crossbow and youth deer seasons.
