A little life vignette shows safety consciousness of AC bus drivers

By Carol S. Myers

I observed a very interesting situation yesterday. While in the front office at Adair County Elementary, two bus drivers radioed the school. They would not allow students at two different locations to exit their buses until there was an adult present. The parents were contacted to inform them about the situations. One bus driver waited until the parent arrived, and the other agreed to meet the parent at a location along his route. I think this shows how much the bus drivers in Adair County care about the safety of students. I was truly impressed. - Carol S. Myers, Curriculum Resource Teacher, Adair County Schools, Columbia, KY

Maury Lewis want to know how long hospital tax will be around

Comments re article 62417 Judge Tapp signs agreed order imposing Adair Co Hospital Tax

Maury Lewis writes:
Is this a one time pay tax or is this something that will be around for a few years or is this a tax that will be here forever? Inquiring minds want to know. - Maury Lewis
Thanks, Maury - It appears the tax may be around for at least several years. More details will be posted on CM as learned. The Special Called Meeting at Westlake at 3pmCT, today, will set the tax rate of at least 10 cents/$100 - a benchmark is that $100,000 assessed valuation would be $100 per year at that rate. - Stay in touch. Local media, including CM, will be covering this story. - EW
