Boil Water Advisory still in effect - lift could happen later today What we wondered about the high number of waterline breaks this week By Ed Waggener The CAUD Boil Water Advisory issued: Wednesday, September 11, 2013, is still in effect this morning, but Columbia Adair Utilities District (CAUD) expects it to be lifted sometime today, when test results are received. At last night's CAUD meeting General Manager Lenny Stone said that the high number of water main breaks, including the one requiring the current Boil Water Advisory, in the old Columbia Utilities District water lines territory, resulted from in a mishap near the bypass/Campellsville Road intersection. A five year old valve had failed and, as CAUD was replacing, Mr. Stone was injured and was taken from the repair scene to the hospital. (He was wearing a finger cast as a momento last night). During that time, the crew installing the line opened too much pressure and "The result," Mr. Stone said, "was that we blew every weak line in town." In all, failures occurred in rapid succession in five points. "The good news," he said, "is that we've now found the worst situations and corrected them." 2013-09-13 05:52:16 | Comments | Printable version

Cancellations: A big reason to be Enrolled in CM Events They are a snap if you're "enrolled" An added benefit to being "enrolled," - knowing the CM Events posting procedures, is that Cancelations are a snap, and Free, once an Event is posted. If an Event is not posted in CM Events, we Charge, if we can post it at all. The reason should be obvious. On those hectic storm and snow days, the CM system would be overwhelmed if the editors needed to deal with five or six messages, like these, "Rehearsals off. Corky," or "No Whippets practice, Coach." with no return email, no phone number and no way to easily contact "Corky," or know who "Coach" is. Or "Pastor Bob," or "Cook." is. If you want your organization "enrolled" - that's just our term for power users, who are always power readers and promoters of CM - call 270-250-2730 and we'll help set you up. - ED 2013-09-13 04:20:11 | Comments | Printable version
