He is being covered in lime from the drilling of a new oil well just up the hill. Poor thing looked pittyful before, but he will be worse after a few days of continued liming. Enjoy the new road folks. All five Workforce Investment Areas which are part of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) are encouraging local employers to participate in telephone interviews, which are part of a comprehensive workforce study to collect valuable data on local salaries, hiring trends, occupations in demand, industry growth, skills gaps and much more. KY 61 opening in Adair County today - weather permitting Motorists encouraged to be alert for traffic shift By Amber Hale, Information Officer Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 8, KHD, Somerset, KY SOMERSET, KY - July 16, 2012 - The new KY 61 will open to traffic between Sparksville to just south of the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in Adair County today, Monday , July 16, 2012, weather permitting. The nearly $22.7 million project began in 2008 to reconstruct and realighn KY 61 from Sparksville to just south of the newly construct ramps with the Louie B Nunn Parkway. The new alignment is approximately 6 miles long and consists of two lanes with truck passing lanes on steeper grades and 8 foot paved shouldersMotorists are strongly encouraged to be on guard for traffic shifts onto the newly constructed roadway. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination. Many fair goers got to see him and pals close up; a few very lucky ones got pictures taken with the celebrity Kentuckian Click on headline for item with photo(s) By Greg Thomas, President, Adair County Fair Board Rumors were flying last week during the Adair County Fair and Horse Show about the Turtle Man. The Animal Planet, out of New York and the Turtle Man were at the Adair County Fairgrounds on Wednesday and Thursday, of last week taping footage for the show "Call of the Wild". Turtle Man, Ernie Brown, Jr., from Marion County, KY, reportedly recovered four different types of animals while here. Many fair goers had a chance to see him and some even became extras for the show.
