A Mystery is solved: The Bliss Kids are identified  Mary Ruth Scott Norris and Harry Staples are two kids in old photoMary Ruth Scott Norris writes: Ed, I am the girl, Mary Ruth (Scott )Norris standing with Harry Staples, with his dog in front of the only store in Bliss. His Dad and Mom own and operated the store and that was where you received your mail and many food items. A lot of good memories come to mind going to the store to get refreshments and enjoy the people of the community.I'm glad that my brother, Kenneth Scott, was able to purchase the downtown store but the store was in such bad repair that he was not able to save it. NEW BOIL WATER ADVISORY issued July 12, 2012 at 2pmCT UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory, below, lifted at 2pmCT, Thursday, August 23, 2012 A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District for customers on West Frazier Street, Burkesville Street, and Lancaster DriveThe advisory has been issued due to main line leak. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Gina Hinebaugh wins at AMHA Miniature Horse show LM Idol's Honey Hawk gets the trophies at Kentucky Horse Park Thomas Hinebaugh writes: I would like to congratulate my wife, Gina Hinebaugh and Ourfarm miniatures in their first big American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) horse show. She received two second places, a third and a fifth place finish in her class. There were four judges. The show took place in Lexington, KY, at the Kentucky Horse Park; it was the AMHA Julip Cup. In actuality it is Carolina Horse Nettle but Bull Nettle more accurately suits its personality. Bull Nettle is one really nasty plant. It has nettles on the leaves and on the stems. If given the choice between falling into a patch of Bull Nettle or being shot with a 12 gauge shotgun at thirty paces, you got it, the shotgun is the only sane way to go. The tiny green tomato fruit is very poisonous to us humans. After they turn yellow they are considered to be less poisonous. Why no finches at feeder? I have always enjoyed watching birds and often place black oil sunflower seeds out in order to keep a colorful variety about the yard. I had been wanting to give finches a try so I purchased a simple sock feeder and following the directions, hung it about five feet from the ground. This was probably two months ago. I haven't seen the first finch And my feeder is still filled to capacity. What am I doing wrong?
