Police looking suspect in July 6, 2012 Bank of Buffalo robbery Robber was wearing camouflage mask; made get-away in newer model Chevrolet Bank robbery approximately 44 miles from Downtown Columbia, KY, according to Google Map/Buffalo, LaRue County, KY By MTPR Norman Chaffins, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY BUFFALO, KY - On Friday, July 06, 2012 at approximately 12:51pmET, Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY, received a call from the Larue County Dispatch that the Bank of Buffalo in Buffalo, KY had been robbed. Our preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was in and out of the bank in less than a minute as he fled out through the rear door with an undetermined amount of cash. He was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 230 lbs. He was last seen wearing a camouflage mask, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and possibly armed with a handgun. The get-away vehicle was described as a newer model Chevrolet, maroon, 4-door passenger car. VAMPY students create giant chain-reaction machines at WKU Verbally and Mathematically Precocious Youth making LEGO robots do simple tasks By Mandy Simpson, Coordinator of Communications and Technology News from Western Kentucky University The tasks are simple -- pin a button to the wall, release balloons, pull a lever. But the processes students at The Center for Gifted Studies' Summer Program for Verbally and Mathematically Precocious Youth are using to achieve these goals are complex -- trigger LEGO robots that turn a handle, move a wall, activate a pulley, launch a toy car, pull a string, and finally accomplish the original task. It may seem like the long way around to some, but for these students in VAMPY's Rube Goldbergineering class, that's the whole point. Forty year old Jennifer Butler-Damaschke was arrestedon July 6, 2012 at 2:26pmCT at her residence located at 2027 Hwy 55South, Columbia Kentucky as a result of an investigation conductedby Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss and Deputy Sheriff AaronRainwater. Sheriff Moss reports that after a short investigation, asearch warrant for Damaschke's South 55 residence was obtained andexecuted. As a result thirty (30) marijuana plants were found growingon the property and other drug paraphernalia seized. Damaschke wasarrested for Cultivating in Marijuana five plants or greater-1stoffense, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of drugparaphernalia. According to Pickett, there's going to be an incredible light show with the Ferris Wheel this year, making the traditional ride a show in itself. The ride was completely renovated in Myers' shop in Gibson, Florida, he said. For many, watching the midway move in and set up, with its military-like logistics and discipline, is almost as entertaining as the fair itself. Starting Monday, July 9, 2012, through Saturday, July 14, 2012, Fair Visitors pay $10 at the gate, get hand stamped at front gates, and ride all rides. The Midway Opens at 6pmCT each day July 9-14.
