Democratic Women will have bake sale Dec. 3, 2011

Proceeds will go to the Bernice Flowers Scholarship Fund

The Adair County Democratic Women's Club will be having a bake and craft sale at Christmas in Columbia at the Historic Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, downtown Columbia, KY, on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 9am-4pmCT. Members are asked to donate a baked item or craft item for the sale. All proceeds will go toward the Bernice Flowers scholarship fund. Please bring items by 9amCT or call me to make arrangements to get your item picked up or bring by my house or Cynthia Rowe''s on Fortune Street at Monroe Street. CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Campbellsville University wrapped up the 12th annual Lou Cunningham Classic Saturday with an 80-70 win over Life University in the Powell Athletic Center. The win was the sixth-straight for the Tigers and the fifth-straight loss for Life since falling to Campbellsville in Marietta, GA, on Nov. 12. Lindsey Wilson won the first game of the Lou Cunningham Classic on Friday, 99-85, over Life.

Oldest living Kentuckian, 111, dies in Campbellsville, KY

Sad word of the passing of Mrs. Lera Williams. The Campbellsville resident, Cumberland County native was 111 years old. Complete obituary will be posted when obituary received from Parrott & Ramsey Funeral home

It was Christmas Eve 1957 and I had just turned ten. I still believed in Santa (kids believed in Santa much longer then), and I just knew that this year I would receive the most beautiful baby doll in the world "Tiny Tears" and after her mommy (which would be me) would finish feeding her a bottle she would cry real tears and wet her diaper.

Dear Santa Clause:--

I will attempt to write you a few lines this evening. this is the first time I ever attempted to write to dear Santa Clause. I want you to bring me a big doll and some candy, and a dress, a right nice little organ. Be sure and come. I will go to bed at seven o'clock. I am eight years old.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Chase Spreen poured in a career-high 30 points and Kalen Kimberland added 20 points to help Lindsey Wilson College tear past Life (GA) University 99-83 on Friday night in the Lou Cunningham Classic hosted by Campbellsville (KY) University in the Powell Athletic Center.
