Remembering Charles R. Marshall (1929-2011): A Gentle Man

'I will miss Charles. I will miss his smile, his kind manner, and his genuineness.' - CAROL SALATO
Click on headline for complete story

By Carol Salato Myers
Growing up in such a small community as Columbia, I knew most everyone around the Square and Charles Marshall was no exception. Actually, when one mentioned Charles and Yvonne, no last name was needed. They were a beautiful, loving couple who reminded me so much of my parents in their devotion to each other and their love of family.

As a frequent movie-goer, I saw Charles often. He was a soft-spoken man who always had a kind word for everyone.

I cannot pass up the opportunity to tell a story about Charles.

Got a perceived PR problem? Handle it openly, quickly

Have a perceived public relations problem?

In the interest of maintaining civil discourse, CM offers suggestions which we think will help make your position more credible:

  1. If there is an error of fact in a story or a letter, please send a courteous correction as soon as possible.

  2. If you or your organization made a mistake, admit it quickly, apologize for the mistake, offer a fast correction, and thank the messenger for bringing it to your and the public's attention.
