Concord School, Fairplay, KY, 1909
2022-01-10 - Adair Co., KY - Photo courtesy LaRue Bennett. In the background of the school group picture is the old log Concord Methodist Church house, 1 1/2 miles south of Fairplay, KY. It was used for our school house from 1909 to the mid-term of the session of 1911. After this, the school moved to a new one room school house 1/2 mile farther south on John Bennett's farm. It was built by our parents and called Walnut Grove School.

- Rosabell Sparks. Foster daughter of Johnny and Sara Young. Married Ulis Garrett, had 4 children and moved to Harvard, IL about 1920.
- Ethel White. Moved to Campbellsville 1910.
- Mattie Durnall. Wife of John Durnall and mother of Frances Durnall in this picture.

- Marvin McClister. Brother of Bessie McClister.

Teacher: Miss Minnie Morrison. She boarded with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Young, who also paid her salary.
