Barnetts Creek Road Bridge set for replacement early 2017

2016-10-16 - Barnetts Creek Road, near Pellyton, Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c).
The narrow Barnetts Creek Road bridge west of Pellyton, Adair County, KY, has funding in place for replacement with a wider span, and a raised and widened approach to allow two-way use of the bridge. The replacement has been scheduled for early 2017, Adair County Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens said. The court approved and engineering contract for Barnett's Creek Bridge at its Tuesday, October 11, 2016 regular session. Judge Stephens said that final specifications for the bridge and approaches will be determined by the engineer, Greg Eastham. Barnett's Creek north, beyond this bridge, continues into Casey County by Barnett's Creek Road, or, via Gennie Hill Road, accesses Sanders Ridge Road in Adair, at a point a short distance South to Pellyton, or north to KY 70 at the Creston Baptist Church, either way through some of the most delightful byways anywhere on earth. - Ed Waggener Photo, Saturday, October 15, 2016.
