July 4th Fireworks at the Fair: Thirst quenchers at Band Booths

2012-07-04 - 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne. Fireworks watchers can expect the dry warm air to create a thirst: The Adair Band can help. Cool Band Mom Lachana Scholl was getting a bag of ice ready for the parched crowds expected tonight. The band will have water, iced drinks and Snow Cones and hot Juicy Grilled Hamburgers were already coming off the grill for the Band Food Booths at the track crossing at the Adair County Fairgrounds at the same time. The Band Boosters are now pros at providing fair food. Short lines were already forming at a little past six this evening as early bird fireworks fans were joining the crowd already in place for the Family Fun Games, underway. Besides the several food stands the band has, local BBQ man Rerun Cornelison will be preparing food at the show as well. The low humidity is making the night air more comfortable than in almost all prior years.
