Steven Baker: 2009 Columbia-Adair Co. Volunteer of the Year

AS STEVEN BAKER received the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Award as the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year from Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce President Donna Stotts, Peggy Lawson couldn't hold back tears of pride. Lawsn, his mentor, detailed his rise from asking her for the chance to help Adair County to his current position as head of the Relay for Life, Proudly watching the presentation, far left, is Mayor Pat Bell, proud of another City of Columbia employee's contribution; next is Adair County CJE Ann Melton, who earlier in the evening was named the C-AC Business/Professional Woman of the Year; then District Judge Mike Loy, and, at right, Amy Thompson, who gave the evening's invocation in song.
