Over the rooftops, Campbellsville ST by Laddercam

2005-10-08 - Scenic Adair County: Downtown Columbia - Photo Bryan Gaskins. One of the most dramatic scenes recorded by Laddercam Photographer Bryan Gaskins was this view over the rooftops down Campbellsville Street. From the corner on the Square, going north, the East Side of the Road has the Collins Building, the green roofed City Hall, Grissom Funeral Home, and Columbia Christian Church with the beautifu spire. On down the street can be seen Flowers & Things, Jeff's Tire, Burton Ace Hardware and a bit of IGA Express. The background ridgelinegoes from Sandusky Mill Hill, center, to Gobbler's Knob on the right. On the left, most prominently, are, just off the Square, Glamor-ette Beauty Salon, and, on-out, the green roofed Kelsey House, and the Blue Barn at Southern States, with the Columbia Cemetery beyond that. In the notch between the Collins Building and City Hall can be seen the front of the First Realty Building and its roof. The aerial photo was taken during Downtown Days, October 8, 2005, from aloft, by Bryan Gaskins, aboard Columbia Fire Department Ladder Truck No. 1; he was accompanied by Chris Bragg. Both men are firefighters.( Public comment for inclusion in this caption is welcome.) Click ReadMore for more Downtown Days photos.
