Scenic Adair County farm: Gradyville, KY

2005-08-31 - Gradyville, KY - Photo Linda Waggener. Sliders on the Hill? A large crowd was on hand for the auction sale of retired cattleman Haskell Rogers' place in Gradyville, KY, Saturday, August 27, 2005. The winning bidders for the beautiful 100-acre hillside farm were Gradyville agri-businessmen Richie Janes and Chris Cowan. The farm has major frontage on KY 80 as well as on two county roads and holds wonderful views of historic Gradyville, the beautiful Big Creek Valley, and the majestic Weed Ridgeline. At the Gradyville store across the road, Joe Parnell joked that Richie Janes would be building a steak house on the site. But Mr. Janes shot back, "No," he said. "A White Castle." While the landmark barn, above, went with the place, Mr. Rogers retained his former residence on the farm and has said he will be returning to live there. He now resides on Old Gradyville Road.
