Kentucky Color: Dust to Dust

2024-02-24 - Great Wooded South - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge.
Billy Joe writes, "How many times have we heard a member of the clergy at the grave of a dearly departed one softly proclaim, 'dust to dust'? Dust to dust is a paraphrase of the Genesis scripture, 'by the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return?'

We can see from this rear end assembly of maybe an eighty year old truck that it too, is returning to the ground from whence it came. Whether it is days, decades or centuries, Mother Earth reclaims and recycles all that take the temporal journey of life or existence apart from her."
