Chad Wheet, Adair County Ambulance Director, was voted from this group of nominees as the First Responder of the year. Shelby Hatcher, TJ Health Columbia, Director of Nursing, accepted the award on his behalf.
He began his career in 2006 in Boyle County where he received his required certification. He then began his dream job with the Adair County Ambulance Service in 2007. He worked on advanced certifications through the years and became a paramedic in 2011. He also served as a flight paramedic for Air Evac Life Team and was promoted to Assistant Ambulance Director in 2020.
