Daffodil watch 2023 - on Sanders Ridge Road

2023-02-10 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Sharon Whitehurst
Sharon writes, "Daffodils were huddled down against the freezing nights of early February, now several warm sunny days have given them encouragement. Photos taken with my simple Canon SX620 from the truck window while Jim urged me to hurry. I jumped out and plucked six stems. The scent of springtime! Its sad that so much trash has been thrown along the roadside making it difficult to focus on the beauty of the flowers."

A rather blustery day

2023-02-09 - Cumberland County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com
Winnie The Pooh would definitely label Thursday, February 9, 2023 a "blustery day." In the farmhouse where I grew up, we'd call it window-rattling weather. This picture is an example of today's skies, looking out through what Sharon Whitehurst would call “the bones of the landscape”, into moody blue gray clouds, backdrops for the waving limbs of leafless trees.
