Adding another space to help families in crisis

This building is added space for those in crisis. Workers moved the former polling building into position to act as JOY Ministries newest men and families shelter. Volunteers from the Band of Brothers Christian Fellowship and the Columbia Christian Church are helping JOY to convert this older building into a new space for those in crisis in our community. The building will be located in the 911 Center lot beside Cally's House and was donated by Fiscal Court and moved by D and D Towing. Comments | Permalink

15th Annual Spring Cruise into Glasgow (1 of 3)

The 15th Annual Spring Cruise Into Glasgow rolled into downtown on Saturday, June 13, 2026, and Robert Ellis was on hand to take a few photos.
Robert writes, "The left of this image is the town square that had on display the numerous classic vehicles. I had already made a couple of rounds photographing the 'old beauties' while simultaneously taking in some street photography as well. I was about to call it a wrap when I spotted this old truck parked here...now this is what I had been looking for! A vehicle that still retained its antiqueness, with an old picturesque building for a backdrop.
After a few moments alone with the truck, taking and composing numerous photos, the owner, Joey Dudgeon, and his wife, arrived on the scene and were pleased that someone was showing that much interest in the old truck. Ultimately, (per my request) he was more than happy to move the truck closer to the building for even more photos.
What a great ending to my day of photography."

Lindsey Wilson University student Tezon Mitchell '27 of Greensburg stands next to the Mark Twain mural he painted by commission for the city of Columbia.
