Why would a driver travel up Burkesville Street, wait on busy Wednesday morning traffic around the Public Square, bump over the curb, go half way around the historic Courthouse to Campbellsville Street - instead of taking the bypass which connects to both and avoids the Square? Redbud blossoms are more than just decorative this time of year. Those with the patience to gather enough buds can boil them to make a Redbud Tea, which is the key ingredient in Redbud Jelly. A recipe is available here: forestry.ca.uky.edu/files/redbud_jelly_recipe (PDF). Marisa says that violets and dandelions can be used for jelly with the same basic recipe. Comments | Permalink
