Mike says of this headstone in the Old Baptist Cemetery in Old Washington, "This is a slate stone, locally sourced, and was likely carved within a few weeks or months after the death of this infant. Also note the almost total lack of deterioration and damage to a stone that dates back--at the time of the photo--about 210 years!" Comments | Permalink

The historical marker in the Washington Baptist Cemetery reads, "Buried here are pioneers. Indians, Revolutionary War soldiers and - in a common grave - some 40 early Presbyterians of Washington and Murphysville. The first two Presbyterian pastors, Robert Wilson and Paradise Lost McAboy: are here: also Arthur Fox, Sr., Indian fighters Charles and James Ward, and Abigail H.
