A busy year at the Genealogy & History Research Center

In 2025, the Adair Co. Genealogy & History Research Center worked closely with and hosted research visits from 31 states and two foreign nations; collaborated on research and programs with Lindsey Wilson University, the Adair County Public Schools, Homeschool groups, the City of Columbia, 4-H Program, and more.

Whitehurst Diaries: attempting to be invisible

In this issue of Sharon's diaries, she writes, "I recognize that squirrels can be a nuisance, rummaging, chewing, getting in where they aren't wanted. The squirrel families in residence here are thus far sharing our acreage very politely, which allows me opportunities to enjoy them. Not the best photo, but the best I could achieve with my little camera and 20 minutes dedicated to leaning against a nearby tree, attempting to be invisible."
