New film has some Kentucky connections

Director Gus Van Sant's new film Dead Man's Wire, is based on a true story and set it the 1970s. It was filmed in and around Louisville in January 2025, and this vintage green Ford Pinto was a spotted regularly at various filming locations.

Don Overstreet, the son of Joyce M. Coomer and Donald M. Overstreet of Columbia, plays Doug O'Brien in Van Sant's new film, which is opening in theaters worldwide this Friday, January 16, 2026.
