Busy Bees

2026-06-29 - Columbia, KY - Photo by April Shepperd
It was a tree swarming party for these bees last week as they enjoyed the Magnolia blossoms on Grissom Street. When the stamins fall into the petals, the bees roll around collecting pollen for their hive. The tree was brought from Magnolia, Mississippi and planted on the property in 1974 by Jim and Pallie Nelson. The property is now owned by their granddaughter, April Shepperd, who cherishes the living legacy of her grandparents.
