This February 1st photo shows what we'd spent the last week of January fighting, ice on everything. Today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, we're over freezing and there's a whole lot of dripping and dropping noises making us smile. Billy Joe writes, "At that time the prison had their own dairy herd to keep some of the minimum security prisoners busy. Because of escalating land values and maybe even changes in rules about prison labor in California, they eventually ceased the program and sold much of the land. Back then, seeing the cows made me a little homesick for Kentucky and my own dairy herd!" Comments | Permalink
