Kestrels have traditionally been called Sparrow Hawks, although they mainly eat grasshoppers and other insects, in addition to small mammals and birds. This one is clutching a fairly humble catch. Comments | Permalink

Wise writes, "Lots of visitors from the 16th Senate District stopped by this past week, including local county officials - Judge Executives/Magistrates/PVAs from Adair, Clinton, Taylor & Wayne Counties, Lake Cumberland Health Department, Cumberland Family Medical Center, Taylor County educators, Independent KY College Presidents, and various other constituents and friends."
