These are the days of creative school at home and Juan and Jessica Ayala of Columbia are making the best of unusual circumstances. Their sons/students are Gabriel, left, who is just turning six, and is in Kindergarten, while big brother Cristian is seven-years-old and is in first grade. AC Fire Department working on SBCA grant

A week ago, before the new guidelines on meetings were put into place, Adair County Fire department officials attended the first March Fiscal Court meeting to ask for support of a grant for $170,000 for the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus (SBCA). The Court approved their request. Judge Executive Gale Cowan said the grant is only a pass-through using Fiscal Court, but no monies will come from Fiscal Court pertaining to this grant.
