Billy Joe writes, "Yes, Terrapins burrow underground during the cold months. This one had only minutes before, climbed out of his winter bed; as evidenced by the drying topsoil still clinging to his shell. They don't truly hibernate but their winter metabolism does slow down." Comments | Permalink
