Larry Hopper, 68, Casey County, KY (1955-2024)

Larry Ray Hopper, of Dunnville, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 in Jamestown. He was 68 years of age.

Larry was a retired employee of the Lake Cumberland State Park, where he worked for 28 years as an accountant. He enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren. His family lovingly describes him as a "Storyteller Extraordinaire."


Born October 13, 1955, he was a son of the late Oval Ray and Dortha Mae Chumbley Hopper.

Survivors include his son, Jeremy (and Stacy) Hopper, of Russell Springs; his daughter, Kim Hopper Foley, of Russell Springs; a sister, Linda Holtzclaw, of Russell Springs; and four grandchildren, Grayson Foley, Madison Hopper, Adalyn Hopper, and Carly Rae Hopper.

Funeral services are 10amCT Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating. Burial will follow in Holt Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday, April 19, at the funeral home, and will resume Saturday at 8 until time of services.

Brian Redmon, Brad Redmon, Wayne Stephens, Paul Barger, Randy McIntosh, and Mark Carter will serve as pallbearers. Jr. Stephens and Nicky Tucker are honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503 or Holt Cemetery Fund, c/o Danny Tucker, 266 Hwy 1383, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
