Louise Pelly, 92, Columbia, KY (1929-2021)

Louise Pelly of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her home. She was 92 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 10amCT on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 5pmCT on Friday, October 15, 2021.


She was born February 5, 1929, in Adair County, to the late James Frank and Iva Mae Derman Stone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Pelly, son James Wayne Pelly, grandchildren Kody Pelly and James Dewayne Pelly and siblings, Mabel McClister, Bob Stone, Jack Stone and Betty Goff. Louise was a homemaker and babysitter and a member of Columbia Christian Church.

Survivors include:
  • One son - Bobby Joe (Kim) Pelly of Columbia
  • One daughter - Kathy (Jeff ) Rodgers of Columbia
  • Four grandchildren - Jessi Janes, Jazmyne Burton, Jared Rodgers and Paul Pelly
  • Fifteen great grandchildren - Isaah Pelly, Lilli and Averi Ballard, Casper, Parker and Piper Burton, Mary Kate, Rhett, River, Karly, Matt and Mason Janes, Skyler and Bryce Bechtel and Ethan Tomblin
  • Daughter-in-law - Vocal Pelly of Columbia
  • Siblings - Helen Burton of Morristown, Indiana, Ronnie Stone of Columbia and Jimmy Stone of Columbia
  • Special dog - Casey
Casket bearers - Jared Rodgers, Jeff Rodgers, Danny Stone, Billy Stone, Bobby Stone, Lenny Stone, Ron Stone, Darrell Burton and Jason Janes
