Helen Mitchell Moore Clark, Green County, KY (1929-2021)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen Mitchell Moore Clark. She was born on December 12, 1929, in the Ebenezer community of Green County, KY to the late W.R. Moore and Euna Hayes Moore. She departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Helen lived a fulfilling life as wife, mother, sister and friend. She and her seven siblings were educated through the 8th grade at the Ebenezer one-room school that their father helped build and was located across the road from the Moore home. After high school she was employed by John Ewing as secretary for the Green County Farm Agent. Once married, Helen and Bill moved to Georgetown where Bill was introduced to rattan furniture. A few years later they returned to Greensburg and started Clark Casual Furniture. Other shared passions included sailing and wine making. Helen was involved with the Girl Scout program and was a longtime member and elder of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church.



Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene (Bill) Clark, whom she married in 1952. To this union were born four daughters: Amanda Lou Clark of Portland, Oregon, Amy Lynn Clark (Patrick White) of Birmingham, Michigan, Ann Leah Clark of Louisville, Kentucky and Abbe Le Clark of Pacific Palisades, California. Helen and Bill were blessed with five grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell Clark Matteri, Christopher William Clark Matteri, Elizabeth Noel Clark Matteri, Charles Michael Clark White and Christian Andrew Clark White. Three grand-dogs, Lulu, George and Rex, provided comfort and entertainment.

In addition to Helen's daughters and grandchildren, she is survived by one sister, Peggy Moore Jones of Campbellsville, Kentucky, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by six siblings, Mary Lois Moore, Ameila Shuffett, Leontine Rowland, W.T. Moore, Clellan Moore and Holland (Mose) Moore.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, October 16, at 1pmET at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Minister: Rev. James Murphy. Walk-through visitation 11am until noon Saturday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Due to Covid-19, the family is requesting that everyone attending to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

The graveside service will be live streamed and can be viewed on the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home Facebook Page

The family has asked the expressions of sympathy take the form of a donation to the Jeremiah Abel Log Cabin Fund (which can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home).

Pallbearers: Dana Jones, Byron Jones, Howard Moore, Julianne Moore, Jenny Giles and Joe Shuffett

Honorary Pallbearers: Susie Waddington, Kim Rowland Brewer, Shelley Rowland Dunn, Bobby Rowland, Rod Moore, Billy Tate Moore, and Eddie Shuffett.
