Carol Perkins: Massive -maybe only ever- Edmonton HS reunion There has never been one and there will likely never be another, so try to attend this massive class reunion if you attended Edmonton High School or Grade School. - CAROL PERKINS Next earlier Carol Perkins column: Carol Perkins: The seven foot tall chainsaw sculpted wizard By Carol Perkins As part of Edmonton's 200th Birthday Party, a massive class reunion for anyone who attended Edmonton High School (1922-1958) and/or Edmonton Grade School (1922-1970) will be held 3pm-5:30pmCT, Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Old School Cafe, 805 W Stockton Street, Edmonton, KY. From the "big building" to the wooden structures for elementary students, few who attended will ever forget Mr. Smith's office overlooking the parking lot or places like the coal room, candy room. We can smell the homemade rolls, and reminisce about the unique personalities of our teachers. We remember Mr. Word and Mr. Key, as well as our bus drivers and cooks. For the first time in the history of the school system, generations who attended EHS and EES have a chance to share our memories with a slide show, pictures, tale tales, and refreshments (provided by ESB). During this reunion, our citizens over the age of 90, whether they attended school here or live here, will be recognized at 4 o'clock. (Be sure to inform them of this event and help them attend if they don't have a way.) The Metcalfe County School System will help ready the area and we will work to make this is biggest reunion in our history. There has never been one and there will likely never be another, so try to attend. Contact Susan Chambers, Carol Perkins, or Freeda Reece for more information.
