Epicurean Kentuckian: Salato Sampler Fundraiser - 2 Jun 2018 Tickets are $75 per person but promises great Kentucky foods - Smoked Pork, Fried Catfish and Blue Snapper (Asian Carp0 and Kentucky Beers, Bourbons, and Wines. Annual Event benefits a great cause: The Salato Center, named for a Great Adair Countian, Dr. James C. Salato, for whom the Adair County Health Department Building is also named. Click on headline for complete story Kentuckians are invited to sample the best of Kentucky's food and drink at the Salato Sampler, at the Salato Wildlife Education Center, 1 Game Farm Road, Frankfort, KY Frankfort from 5pm-8pmCT, 6pm-9pmET, Saturday, June 2, 2018. Tickets for the Salato Sampler may be purchased for $75 a person by calling 502-229-7578, online at www.kentuckywildlife.com, or at the door. Event attendees must be 21 years in age or older. Guests can enjoy locally produced food, including smoked pork, fried catfish and blue snapper (Asian carp), while sampling the world's finest bourbons, local wines and beers. The event, held annually at the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort, will also feature live bluegrass music. The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation partners with Kentucky Proud to present this event. Proceeds benefit the Salato Center. In addition to exceptional food and drink, East of Nowhere Bluegrass Band will provide entertainment throughout the evening. Outdoor exhibits will be open for guest viewing while the Salato staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the center's wildlife. Ongoing silent, live and online auctions will help raise additional funds for the center. The Salato Center will close at 1pmCT/2pmET, June 2 in preparation for the event.
