By Charles Balcom

Silvis, IL - Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Rasmus Broholt Lind shot an even-par 71 during the third round of competition at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship Tournament on Thursday at TPC Deere Run.

He remains at 1-under for the tournament and sits in a tie for 10th place heading into the final round of play on Friday. Lind trails tournament leader S.M. Lee from Dalton State (Ga.) by nine strokes, who also leads the next-closest competitor by five strokes.

The championship field has been trimmed following the third round of play at the par-71 7,066-yard course. Only the top 17 teams and top 40 individuals plus ties advanced to the final day of play on Friday.

Lind started on the back nine and moved to 1-under par through his first six holes after five pars and a birdie on the par-4, 418-yard 13th. He finished out his first nine at even-par after a bogey on the 16th and a pair of pars on 17 and 18.

He also played the front nine to even-par with seven pars, one birdie and one bogey. The birdie came on the par-4 fourth and the bogey was on the par-4 sixth.

The sophomore has carded nine birdies through the first 54 holes of play and continues to excel on the par-4s, playing them to 3-under which is the third-lowest margin among the field of 156 competitors.

Oklahoma City has taken over the team lead and holds an eight-stroke advantage over second-place Dalton State.

Lind was scheduled to tee off at 7:30amCT on Friday, May 18, 2018, in the final round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
