Daryl D. Grider, 68, Russell County, KY (1949-2018)

He was born in Jamestown, KY, and was a resident of Somerset, KY, at the time of his death there. He was a member of a large, respected Russell County, KY, family, the son of the late Eva (Pierce) & Otha Cordell Grider. His wife, Janet Warriner Grider, survives. He was a veteran and will be accorded full military rites at committal rites in Russell County. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Daryl D. Grider, 68, of Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday at his home in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services for Daryl Grider are at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY at 3pmCT, Tuesday, March 20, 2018, with Bro. Jesse Jewell officiating. Friends may visit on Tuesday after 12pmNoonCT, at the funeral home. Burial in the Warriner Cemetery in Jamestown, KY with full Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.

He was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on May 23, 1949. He was a son of the late Eva (Pierce) & Otha Cordell Grider. He died Sunday, March 18, 2018, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 68 years, nine months, and 23 days.

He is survived by:
  • Wife: Janet Warriner Grider, of Somerset, KY

  • Son: Nathan Grider, of Somerset, KY

  • Daughter: Trena (Eric) Kerns, of Somerset, KY

  • Four brothers: Dillon Grider, of Traflagar, IN; and Harold Lee, Jimmy K., and Steve Grider all of Jamestown, KY

  • Four sisters: Treva Franklin and Beverly Grider, of Jamestown, KY; Bernita Earley, of Terra Haute, IN; and Jo Lynn Deglesmith, of Gaffney, SC

  • Grandson: Grant Jason Kerns

  • Granddaughter Allison Brooke Kerns

  • And by host of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by one brother, Kenneth James Grider.
