Barn total loss, adjacent house damaged in Sun 18 Mar fire

The Adair County Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon, 18 Mar 2018, at 2:06pmCT, to a barn and residential house fire at 4340 Liberty Road to property owned by David & Eva Rigney.

The property was being occupied by Eric Smith and Gage Schell.

The house sustained damage and barn was a total loss.

There were 18 Firemen on the scene for about two hours.

Assisting on the scene was Adair Search and Rescue, Adair Sheriff's Office and Constable Jason Rector.

Traffic blocked in both directions due to fire near Vester

Traffic was blocked in both directions on Liberty Road/KY 206 between Beulah Chapel Church and Vester as firefighters from the Adair County Fire Department battled a fire, which destroyed the distinctive red barn, whose color and tower had been a marking spot on the road for the past few years. The adjacent home sustained damage. Other first responders included the Adair County Sheriff's office and the Adair County SAR, and constable Jason Rector.
