Allegedly fleeing CPD, Town Car reaches 90 mph in E 80 chase Acting on numerous complaints, Columbia Police initiates traffic stop, but officers allege that 52 year old driver of 1995 Lincoln Town Car, accelerated, reaching speeds of 90 miles an hour in attempt to elude officers before pursuit ended 7 miles East of Columbia on KY East 80. Suspect lodged in Adair County Regional Jail facing multiple charges. NOTE: Charges in an arrest are not a finding or findings of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Ofc Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross On Saturday, March 10, 2018, at approximately 8:30 Columbia Police Department Officer Josh Brockman attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 1995 Lincoln town car for suspicion of impairment. The vehicle had been reported as being operated by an intoxicated driver that had just left a local business. Officers received additional complaints on vehicle as they began to look for vehicle. After attempting the traffic stop with emergency equipment activated vehicle began to accelerate in an attempt to elude officers reaching speeds of 90 mph . The pursuit ended 7 miles east of Columbia on KY 80. As a result, 52 year old Freda Whittle, was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Evading Police 1st degree, Reckless Driving, and Aggravated circumstances of Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol.
