LWC Women's Bowling finishes 15th at sectional championships By Charles Balcom Smyrna, TN - The Lindsey Wilson women's bowling team finished in 15th place over the weekend at the 2018 Intercollegiate Singles and Team Sectional Championships held at the Smyrna Bowling Center. As a team, the Blue Raiders collected 10,661 total pins across the 64 games. Lindsey Wilson collected 2,600 pins or better in three of the four blocks during the two-day event, including a 2,742 mark in block three and a team-best 2,789 mark during block two. The second-session surge helped the Blue Raiders move up to 14th place, but eventually LWC fell back down to 15th place for the weekend. Anna Etherington posted the highest Blue Raider finish in the singles competition as she finished in 55th place in the field of 160 competitors. She totaled 1,107 pins in her six games, with games of 204 and 200 in her third and fifth games, respectively. Madelin Zubricky finished in 110th with 1,012 pins, including a high of 202 in her fifth game. Kelsey Grayson was 121st and Rebecca Himebaugh finished 139th. The top six individual finishers qualified for the national championship led by Vanderbilt's (Tenn.) Kristin Quah with 1,341 pins. St. Francis (Ill.), SCAD Savannah (Ga.), Maryland-Eastern Shore and Alabama-Birmingham were the top four team finishers that advance to the national championship later this month in Lincoln, Nebraska, joining the top four teams from the other three sectional sites.
