Kentucky Crafted Market this weekend in Louisville

The largest gathering of Kentucky artists under one roof will convene at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY, this weekend, March 2-4, as the Kentucky Arts Council kicks off The Kentucky Crafted Market.

The Market is Kentucky's premier arts marketplace for the best of the Commonwealth's art, craft, artisanal food products, books and music. Visitors to The Market can also participate in hands-on art activities and hear a wide variety of musical acts each day on the Kentucky Stage.

Kentucky Crafted Market by the numbers:


  • 1 - The 2018 Kentucky Crafted Market will mark the first visit of the Kentucky Arts Council's "Makings of a Master" exhibit to Jefferson County.

  • 2 - Active military members with identification, seniors and state employees with identification get a $2 discount on tickets at the door.

  • 3 - For the first time in history, The Market will be open to the public for three days. Public hours open on Friday, March 2, 5-8pmET, The Market is open on Saturday, March 3, 10amET to 7pmET, and Sunday, March 4, 10amET to 5pmET.

  • 7 - The Market exhibitors include seven Kentucky Crafted artists who have never shown at The Market before: Brad Holman, Kimberley Mahlbacher, Chao Ma, Joanne Price, Justine Riley, Ted Tarquinio and Elizabeth Foley.

  • 13 - Number of Kentucky Proud food vendors at The Market this year.

  • 19 - The Kentucky Stage, a collection of live music by some of the top performing groups from the arts council's Performing Artists Directory, features 19 acts.

  • 36 - The Market is in its 36th year and is hosting artists from 36 Kentucky counties.

  • 80 - The Kentucky Documentary Photographic Project, on exhibit at The Market and included with general admission, features photography spanning more than 80 years of Kentucky's history, from the Great Depression through today.

  • 200 - Nearly 200 visual and craft artists will exhibit at The Market.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, fosters environments for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
